Research at HTWK Leipzig is ...

Contract research for business clients and cultural institutions throughout the region has emerged as a defining feature of HTWK Leipzig’s research profile. Students are directly involved in these research activities via internships, project work and research papers.

One of the University’s key goals is to make its faculties’ expertise and equipment available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), who often have little access to university-based research and are unaware of what universities have to offer in terms of practical solutions. However, our enormous research potential may also benefit other clients (e.g. from associations, politics or public administration) via consultancy, reports, analysis or training.

Whatever the project, it is always possible to quickly translate research findings into products, procedures and services.

Applied research at HTWK Leipzig is characterized by high levels of efficiency. Projects are mostly short-term and, compared to basic research, require fewer funds.

Our key research areas have been designed to meet the needs of users. Ongoing input from firms about what works and what doesn’t in their daily routines helps to open the University towards new, practically relevant research and teaching themes.

Researchers from different disciplines frequently work together on a project or draw on findings provided by other disciplines.
