Important notice concerning the outbreak of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)

As of 2 November 2020, HTWK Leipzig will return to online teaching only. Classroom teaching is still possible when absolutely necessary, however all professors are asked to switch to online teaching.

The hygiene concept passed by the HTWK rectorate on 25 September 2020 still applies (starting 1 October 2020 with the beginning of the winter semester 2020/2021 until further notice.)

Wearing a mouth-nose-cover in all common areas of the university is mandatory for everyone. Wearing the cover in class is not necessary unless otherwise specified.

Please keep a distance of at least 1.5 metres to other people if possible. Furthermore, direct physical contact is to be avoided (i.e. no hand-shaking, no hugging) and personal contact is to be minimized. Using alternative means of communication like telephone and video conferences is preferred. The general regulations for protections against coronavirus as issued by the Free State of Saxony apply.

University buildings are closed for the public, students and staff can enter the buildings with their HTWK Card and personal PIN. The library, the computer pools, the student cafeterias and dining halls (Mensa) are open, however restrictions and regulations apply. The gym is closed until further notice. Please check the information on the respective website and posted within the buildings.

According to the regulations issued by the Free State of Saxony, all students and staff who enter Saxony from designted coronavirus risk areas have to go to their apartment immediately and self-quarantine for 14 days or until a negative test result can be provided.
