HTWK Leipzig

Important notice concerning the outbreak of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)

The HTWK Rectorate has decided that the university will slowly start to reopen on 4 May 2020 but that the summer semester will mainly remain a digital semester.

The online courses that have already started will continue online. The responsible professors will inform their students if there are any changes. Only students taking part in practical classes and labs, which cannot be held online, will be able to return to campus within the next weeks.

There is no definite decision yet on how the exams at the end of the semester will be carried out. The professors and coordinators at the faculties will inform their students of the exam regulations for their courses.

The library, the computer pools, the student cafeterias and dining halls (Mensa) will remain closed until further notice. The HTWK gym is closed as well and all sports courses are put on hold. All events at HTWK Leipzig are cancelled until 30 June 2020.

The buildings on the HTWK campus are closed as well. Access to the buildings is only possible with a HTWK Card and a PIN. All offices cancelled their face-to-face consultation but HTWK staff members are still available via telephone and email.

According to the regulations issued by the Free State of Saxony (valid until 20 May 2020), all students and staff who return to Saxony from outside of Germany have to go to their apartment immediately and self-quarantine for 14 days.
