On 10 June 2026, the pilot project “SieWo – Sie wohnt gewaltfrei” is hosting its closing event at Impact Hub Leipzig
This joint project between HTWK Leipzig and the Housing Contact Centre supports women and children who have experienced domestic violence as they make the transition from women’s refuges to a safe home of their own. The aim of the project is to find affordable housing, relieve the pressure on support services and provide long-term support for stable tenancies. The project is funded by the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion, as well as by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). The closing event on 10 June 2026 will begin at 5 pm in the events space at Impact Hub Leipzig, Naumburger Straße 25.
Objectives, results and a new leaflet
As part of the closing event, those involved in the project will present their newly developed leaflet and provide insights into the objectives, results and impact of the pilot project. Topics to be covered include successful housing placements, partnerships with stakeholders in the housing sector, and measures to ease the burden on women’s refuges. Numerous women and children have already been placed in safe accommodation. The “SieWo” pilot project was awarded the Jury Prize at the 2025 SINN Innovation Award Saxony. The research support provided by HTWK Leipzig examines, amongst other things, housing placement processes, the needs of landlords and approaches to improving access to housing for victims of violence.
Following the technical presentation, there will be an opportunity for informal discussion.
