At the international conference EurOMA 2026, Prof. Dr Holger Müller presented the findings of the study ‘The Impact of Global Risks on the Supply Chains of German Companies’.
The study presented here focuses on the question of how German companies assess the current risk situation facing their supply chains. Among other things, the study examined how companies are responding to geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties and other global risks, and what measures they are taking as a result. Furthermore, the study analyses whether and to what extent companies are relocating or diversifying their supply chains, and what opportunities and limitations exist for such a relocation.
The study was produced in collaboration with Prof. Dr Ronald Bogaschewsky and Jasmin Möller from the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg.
About the conference
EurOMA (European Operations Management Association) is one of the most important academic conferences in the field of operations management and supply chain management. This year’s conference took place from 27 June to 2 July 2026 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The theme of the conference was ‘Operations Management for a Sustainable and Resilient Future’. The focus was on current challenges such as geopolitical uncertainties, crisis resilience, sustainable value creation, digital transformation and the design of resilient supply chains.
