HTWK Foundation Dissertation Prize
To support early-career researchers, the HTWK Foundation awards an annual prize of 3,000 euros for an outstanding doctoral thesis.
The prize serves to highlight the importance of early-career researchers at the university and to recognise the achievements of doctoral candidates who have made a remarkable academic contribution to research within the framework of collaborative doctoral programmes – and this despite existing administrative and substantive hurdles, which requires particular courage and the ability to navigate the circumstances at hand. The HTWK Foundation’s Dissertation Prize is intended to recognise such outstanding academic work that is of clear practical significance and whose research findings can be applied in practice accordingly.
Call for Entries for the 2025 and 2026 Dissertation Prizes
To support early-career researchers, the HTWK Leipzig Foundation awards an annual prize of 3,000 euros for an outstanding doctoral thesis. This year, the 2025 and 2026 doctoral thesis prizes are being offered simultaneously.
For the 2025 doctoral thesis prize, PhD graduates who successfully defended their thesis in 2024 may apply upon the recommendation of their supervisor. Applications for the 2026 doctoral thesis prize, which relates to doctorates successfully defended in 2025, follow the same procedure.
