A Look Back at Research Prospects 2024
The ‘Research Perspectives’ photography competition took place for the sixth time in 2024. Organised by the Research Department, the competition was open to all researchers at HTWK Leipzig, who were invited to submit a photograph capturing a moment from their daily research life. The jury, comprising freelance science photographer Swen Reichhold, Research Officer Dirk Lippik, Katrin Haase from Research Communications, and Dr Franziska Böhl from Research Marketing, assessed the submitted images based on criteria such as photographic quality, execution of the concept, uniqueness and composition. In 2024, there were two runners-up with the same number of points. The winners were announced on 5 February 2024 at the opening of the ‘Research Perspectives’ photo exhibition in the foyer of the University Library.
Review: Research Outlook 2023
For the fifth time, researchers at HTWK Leipzig were invited to submit their best photos to the ‘Research Perspectives’ photography competition. The jury consisted of Stephan Flad (freelance science photographer), Susann Hannemann (GradZ HTWK Leipzig), Dr Franziska Böhl (Research Marketing, HTWK Leipzig) and Tino Reiher (Media Centre, HTWK Leipzig). The winners were announced and presented with their awards at the Young Researchers’ Day on 7 June 2023, and their work was exhibited on 23 June 2023 during the Long Night of Science.
A Look Back at Research Perspectives 2022
At the opening of the “Young Researchers’ Day” on 8 June 2022, Prof. Ralf Thiele, Vice-Rector for Research at HTWK Leipzig and Academic Director of the Graduate Centre, presented awards to the winners of the 2022 “Research Perspectives” photography competition.
The jury consisted of Stephan Flad (freelance science photographer), Prof. Ralf Thiele (Vice-Rector for Research at HTWK Leipzig) and Dr Franziska Böhl (Research Marketing at HTWK Leipzig). The photography competition, in which early-career researchers at HTWK Leipzig are invited to capture their everyday research life in photographs, took place for the fourth time in 2022.
A look back at Research Perspectives 2018
The photography competition took place for the third time in 2018. The winning entries were selected by a jury comprising Prof. Markus Krabbes (Vice-Rector for Research, HTWK Leipzig), Rebecca Schweier (Research Communications, HTWK Leipzig) and André Künzelmann (science photographer at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research) based on image composition, uniqueness and relevance to research at HTWK Leipzig. The winning entries were awarded prizes at the Long Night of Science on 22 June 2018 and exhibited in front of the university library. The photography competition is organised by the Graduate Centre at HTWK and kindly supported by europafoto Klinger.
Review of Research Perspectives 2016
At the opening of the Graduate Centre on 8 June 2016, we presented awards to the winners of the 2016 Research Perspectives competition. The jury consisted of Michael Bader (freelance advertising and reportage photographer, Leipzig), Prof. Markus Krabbes (HTWK Leipzig, Vice-Rector for Research) and Rebecca Schweier (HTWK Leipzig, Research Communications). The competition was kindly supported by the Südvorstadt bookshop.
A look back at Research Perspectives 2015
On Science Day, 10 June 2015, the best photos from the ‘ForschungsPerspektiven’ competition were awarded prizes. The jury members included Prof. Markus Krabbes, Vice-Rector for Research at HTWK Leipzig, André Kempner (Leipziger Volkszeitung, photographer) and Rebecca Schweier (HTWK Leipzig, Research Communications). Fotohaus Klinger from Leipzig supported the competition, including by sponsoring the prizes.
