Resource-efficient solutions for timber-beamed ceilings
At the heart of the project is the development of small-format, lightweight carbon concrete panels that are mechanically connected to wooden beams. This construction method allows for easy assembly and disassembly without the need for adhesive joints. This makes the system particularly sustainable and reusable. Carbon concrete also enables a significant reduction in component thickness and dead weight, allowing the system to be flexibly adapted to the requirements of existing buildings.
HBVcarbon addresses the challenges in the construction industry regarding sustainability and efficiency. It offers a promising, cost-effective solution for the renovation of timber-beam ceilings that meets modern requirements. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with the company Holzbau Meyer, which is investigating the application of precast carbon concrete components. HTWK Leipzig is developing efficient connection technologies that play a central role in the project.
