Further developing material-efficient and robust timber roof structures using digital methods
The TimberPlan+ project focuses on increasing the proportion of timber used in the construction of agricultural buildings. It centres on the development of a digital, parameterised planning methodology. This methodology is intended to integrate all necessary specialist planning disciplines and link them without any loss of information, thereby enabling highly cost-effective, fully or partially automated, NC-controlled manufacturing and pre-assembly by regional SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises).
Specifically, the project addresses the construction of material-efficient and robust system roof structures made of timber and wood-based materials, produced regionally using the ReFlexRoof system. The widespread processing and installation expertise within the carpentry and roofing trades is to be specifically developed further in the context of digital methods.
