Innovative plant technology enables soil samples to be prepared more quickly for laboratory testing
The aim of the project is to develop a novel system for accelerating soil mechanics laboratory tests. The system is designed to simultaneously saturate and consolidate multiple soil samples. Saturation and consolidation are essential preparatory stages in soil mechanics laboratory tests. Typically, these stages take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Currently, these processes are carried out within the respective testing environment – usually a testing press. During this time, the testing environment is unnecessarily tied up. The innovative system is designed to enable the saturation of samples outside the actual testing environment and to run the saturation and consolidation processes in parallel for multiple samples. This results in greater availability of the testing equipment and accelerates the time-consuming preparatory phase. This approach enables a modular marketing strategy. In addition to the system as the core product, this results in a novel sensor for measuring consolidation progress, which has independent marketing potential.
