Digitalisation and acceleration of water saturation in the laboratory
The AuDiSat project aims to automate and digitise the necessary but time-consuming step of water saturation in soil mechanics laboratories. This process is currently regarded as a bottleneck in the acceleration of laboratory programmes. The need for this arises from the increase in standard-compliant laboratory tests due to a fundamental revision of European standards and the simultaneous shortage of qualified personnel.
AuDiSat is validating a prototype testing device that offers the possibility of fully automated and parallel saturation of multiple samples without user intervention. The technology aims to accelerate the process by approximately 60–80% by saturating up to three samples simultaneously.
